The ministry of health and family welfare (MoH&FW) has introduced a new feature to book vaccine slots from whatsapp. The vaccination slots can be booked using my gov corona helpdesk on whatsapp.
To recall the bot to vaccine related services was introduced on March last year. Launched to give real-time updates to citizens. whatsapp users need to save 9013151515 to their phone in order to use the service. The union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in a tweet after announcing the new feature “Paving a new era of citizen convenience. Now, book #COVID19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes.”
Here is the process on how to book vaccination slot in whatsapp.
- Save 9013151515 as a contact
- Open whatsapp and search for the name you have just saved
- Send “Book slot” to the saved contact
- You’ll receive an otp. Enter the otp and reply
- If you have registered multiple people under the same mobile number from cowin then select the name of the person for whom you wish to book the appointment.
- choose your date time location and vaccine
- The bot will confirm your appointment
Till now users can get corona virus related information, book slot and download vaccine certificate from the service. The ability to download certificates from the my gov corona helpdesk was launched earlier this month. According to whatsapp around 32 lakh people have used this service till now to book their slots for vaccination.
